Brawley Rodeo

Brawley Rodeo

A strange activity it is. tie a rope around the waist of a bull so that he starts to kick. Then see how long you can stay on him. That sounds like an idea hatched from alcohol induced guys sitting around a campfire. But it caught on! In fact it became so popular that we build arenas that thousands of people can sit and watch. These arenas have been built across the country. They even build them below sea level.

The Brawley rodeo stadium is 150 ft below sea level. As you walked up the stairs to the front row seating a placard in the ground marks the negative elevation. I often wonder if a day will come that this arena will actually be below the crashing  waves still marking the elevation.

I can always count on blue skies whenever I stand below sea level.

Buzz it!
