Fun with remote triggers

Self portraits are always fun. Not a lot of photos exist of me skating because I am usually the one taking the photos. Obviously I can’t take a picture of myself skating right? Well I wanted to find a way. I used a pocket wizard and cable (which was a lot more than I think anyone should ever spend on a cable). I put the camera on a tripod and held the remote while I was skating. It was a challenge at first because I had to think about doing the trick and in the back of my mind concentrate on the exact moment I hit the trigger. As it turns out I clench my fists a little bit before I do a trick so there are a lot of photos of me about to ollie (jump). It was an overcast day so I just went with all natural light. I got lucky. If you look in my right hand you can see the trigger. This is the first of many skating self portraits. Rock on.
