I have just been hired as the photographer for hanger94.com. From here on all of the new products you see on the website will be taken by yours truly. It's another step forward despite the weight on my shoulders. Now that I will have free time during the week I can go skate/take photos. Happy Monday to all

SDNB

I love shooting for San Diego National Bank. They are a happy group of people. Bankers by trade and a bit crazy by night. My last photo of the night was a girl riding a guy like a horse. I just photographed the staff photos for their holiday party tonight. I just hope their next staff rally can size up to this one. I"ll post the photos from it as soon as they are finished.

Help you help me

I believe that success is a team effort. I have a proposal. I want to reward anyone that refers me in photography. If you refer me for a wedding and it is booked, contract is signed, and the down payment is received, I will pay $100. If you refer me for a portrait and the contract is signed and payment received, I will pay $50. Same stipulations for an event and I'll pay $40. I am only doing this through January. The shoot date does not have to be in January but the booking does. Contact me with the details of your referral and I'll make a payment as soon as payment is received. Thank you

Work

As most of you know I have been looking for work for 2 months now. I am so broke that I have to borrow money for gas... often. (thank you to those that of you that have helped me) I finally found a place. A position just opened up at Calumet Photo in Escondido. I will be working in the rental department. This is such a relief to me. I have had a couple of side jobs recently that have quickly vanished as I am paying bare minimums on all my bills that will keep me from going into collection.
I have to talk to HR and the president of the company over the next 2 weeks to go over the details of my job so I will be starting in the middle of next month.
Thank you John and Paul Snay and Michelle Oleary and Kate Rice. I gitchu back

Soletech

I finished my portfolio for Soletech last week and dropped it off. Now I'm waiting to hear back from them. It is now the waiting game. I am really looking forward to working for them. I am also waiting to hear back from Reef. I photographed the LA premiere of their new video "Mixed Tape" with Bobby Martinez. That guy frickin rocks. I had a lot of fun shooting it. It was at Club Element in Hollywood on May 31st. There is another event coming up and I am waiting to hear the details on it.
I just sent off my first photo to Getty images.

Thank you Derek. I have your print ready for you. It looks sick as hell. Happy skating.

I am working on of the photos I took at Lake Powell in the beginning of the month. I have almot 500 to edit so I'll be here for a while.

What would you do?

Maybe you can help me with my dilemma.
For May and June I was working with a photographer. I was shooting for him doing product. It was cool because he shoots mostly skate companies. He trained me for that time to shoot close to their style which is what all of the companies hire him for, his particular style.

Everything was going fine and then all of a sudden, the end of the last week of June I was informed that he didn't need me anymore. He told me that the art director from two of his clients requested one of the other photographers on staff shoot their stuff instead of me. He was planning on having those two companies be sort of my accounts. Since they didn't want me to shoot for them, he didn't have any work for me.

Now I was out of job with no warning. I have been looking for work since then with no success. Career services at Brooks told me about a company looking to hire an in house photographer for all of their catalogue work. The company is one of that photographers clients. One of his bigger clients. In a way I am going behind his back to snag one of his clients based on the training that he gave me. On the other hand I didn't pursue the job and if that company is going to hire an in house photographer anyways, I am not being sneaky or sly with that photographer.

Opinions, suggestions, criticism. Please
